At the same time we are privileged to have a very large crèche. So large in fact that we have had to add another class to Junior Church to accommodate toddlers.
In Junior Church we regularly have children asking to give their lives to Jesus - and have had children make that decision at a very young age more recently.
It is pleasing to see that they are making that choice not in response to a call from the leaders but in response to what I can only say is a prompting from the Holy Spirit.
We have also been blessed by the manifest presence of God in Junior Church on numerous occasions during the past year and begin 2008 with the expectation of and desire for "more" from the Lord this year.
Junior Church is split in to three areas now:
- Toddlers and Infants: Any age - school year ( Two Classes)
- Juniors: School years 3, 4, 5 & 6. (Two Classes)
- Young Leaders: Years 7 and above. (One Class)
In Junior Church we aim to follow the teachings of the church throughout the year as we believe that both children and parents benefit from studying the same subject at the same time. We also appreciate that this is not always appropriate and on occasions we teach as the Spirit leads us ( in agreement with our Pastors ).
Our vision is to see all our children grow both their knowledge of the Word but also in their relationship with God.
While our classes are very full we are blessed to have the opportunity to transport children to and from Junior Church on a Sunday morning and if you - or someone you know - has a need to lift a child to church please do let us know. We will do our best to accommodate them.
This year we will be starting a new department within the Children’s Ministry. We believe that God has given us a vision for the children of Ipswich - to give all 5 year olds to 11 year olds the opportunity to hear the gospel message. We believe that the Lord will use each one of our Young Leaders in this new outreach Imitative and see this as an opportunity for them to develop the gifts God has given them.
We have a dedicated team of teachers already working with our children and are thrilled to be welcoming new teachers to join us in 2008. Similarly we are delighted to have volunteers joining us to work in the new children’s outreach - however if you would like the opportunity to spend some time working with the children please do let us know - we are keen to expand the workers as fast as the number of our children are growing.
